Bats and flying squirrels are the hardest creatures to work with and keep out of your home. I do more follow up jobs from other companies for bats and flying squirrels than any other type of job. Bats can fit through the smallest of cracks and flying squirrels are smarter than rats. At the end of 2011 I bid on a job, the customer had another bid and went with the lower bid and now they are calling back because the other company has been out to their house 6 times and cannot get the flying squirrels out.I had to almost double the original bid because the house is a total mess and I have to remove everything they did and repair parts of the house also. The company may have they have been working with flying squirrels since 1982 but judging from their work this was their first flying squirrel job. It is infuriating to see the fly by nighters coming in and ruining peoples house and not getting the results the home owner expects. Just because someone is cheaper does not mean they are going to be better. Ask as many questions as you can so you get a good feeling about them. A proper exclusion should be effective but also look like you were never there.

Dear TIm, I very much enjoyed speaking with you on the phone about the animal problem in my ceiling. You not only explained how your company works, but the fact that you close up any potential entry areas and guarantee your work made me feel I had chosen the right company.
Your technician, Russell, politely called ahead to let me know when he would arrive within the time window we had predetermined. Upon arrival, Russell surveyed my raccoon and squirrel problem, then explained to me how he was going to handle it. He was very thorough and maintained phone contact with me to keep apprise of the situation. Additionally, he made several trips back to check the progress and then finish the job.
He also pointed out that my kitchen exhaust had no cover on it, and he took care of that issue as well. Which was very helpful, because I would have felt awful if I had accidentally smoked a nest of baby birds.
